Phillip spent his youth working the family farm, yearning for adventure and dreaming of traveling the vast kingdom. When the king invites Phillip to join in an epic quest, his dreams may be coming true, but only if he can survive.
Seven all but impossible demands lay between Phillip and the throne. Demons, goblins, and a century old mystery are just some of the obstacles Phillip must overcome. His journey to the Forest of Memories will take Phillip through the Devil’s Swamp, a battle with raiders from the East, and encounters with new peoples and creatures he scarcely knew existed.
Phillip will be joined by his new companion Jared, an experienced traveler but who is haunted by his own inner demons. They will encounter magical creatures, fight alongside knights, and endure hardships which will test more than just their endurance. To ascend through the forest of memories Phillip must outwit a clever hob-goblin, survive a forest intent on killing him and solve a tree nymph's riddle. Only then will he be allowed to descend into the ancient temples to attain his prize. Duty, honor and comradery drive Phillip toward his destiny, but will he live to reach his goal?
Some things which were forgotten, should now be remembered. For it was in the 43rd year of the rule of King Heziah that the land was slipping into despair. The King, who had brought prosperity, peace, and strength to the kingdom was in his waning years. He had led his knights for more than four decades, and they had won many battles and defended the kingdom with honor and dignity. These were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown. The king’s only son died in battle at the age of only twenty-two. With no successor to the throne, the kingdom and all its lands would become vulnerable to the forces of evil, which even now patrolled its borders and made inroads into the land. Without a strong king, even the brave knights could not fight back the forces of darkness. King Heziah knew the kingdom would not survive a vacant throne, nor could he allow there to be a disputed thrown which would rip the kingdom apart, leaving only a remnant of the great and mighty land his family had ruled for more than 800 years. Convening an emergency council, Heziah consulted with his advisors, the high priests, and most trusted friends. He then secluded himself in the depths of the Castle Crete, and there carefully penned his final decree.
